Wintersett 09.08.17 + Eddethorpe Cattle Egrets

The rain finally stopped at 07.30hrs.  13 - 17 degrees with 8/8 cloud and a cool northerly breeze.
Anglers CP: A juvenile Peregrine flew over north east at 09.30hrs and another, or the same bird, flew high over at 11.05hrs .   2 Dunlin and a Common Sandpiper were on the shallows.  Psycho, the adult Yellow-legged Gull flew in to the small raft, calling.  The adult eclipse drake Wigeon,  a Little Grebe and the Pink-footed Goose still present.
Wintersett Res: 7 Common Tern,  40 Swift and 300 Sand Martin  were in the area as we got a call and a text to say that 3 Cattle Egrets were flying north from Edderthorpe. (Thanks Ivan Martin and John Hewitt)
We dashed to the dam wall but  within minutes, another call told us the Cattle Egrets were back at Edderthorpe.  A quick twitch over, got us great views before the Cattle Egrets flew off again.  We stopped at a high point in Cold Hiendley on the way back to Wintersett and scanned for a while , but no luck.   The 3 Cattle Egrets are the first in the Barnsley Area.  Hopefully they'll join the roost at Old Moor tonight.
