Newmillerdam - 8 (& 6th) February 2017

Almost total cloud cover today, though there was a short spell of sunshine when the cloud cleared.

Not a lot of activity in the treetops, but it was quite quiet on the footpaths, so disturbance was minimal around the lake today. A pochard was by the central walkway, which is the furthest south I've seen it.

Black-headed gull (157), bullfinch (4), Canada goose (28), coot (38), goosander (2f), kingfisher (3), lesser black-backed gull (2), little grebe (1), mallard (184), moorhen (7), mute swan (6), pochard (2), redwing (8), siskin (6), teal (5), tufted duck (17), whooper swan (1).

Monday 6th
Waxwing were in the arboretum (Mick Hemingway counted 9) and a flock of c40 siskin were around the southern end of the lake.

Black-headed gull (119), Canada goose, coot, goldcrest (4), goldfinch (10), goosander (6 - 2m/4f), kingfisher (2), mallard, moorhen, mute swan (6), nuthatch (3), pochard (1), treecreeper (1), tufted duck, whooper swan (1).
