Wintersett 14.10.16

8 degrees with sunny spells and a light north easterly.
Wintersett Res:  Redwing 10 SE + 50 in trees on east bank.  Skylark 21 over.  Meadow Pipit 2 over.
Redpoll 2.   Cetti's Warbler 1m west bank.  Water Rail 1.
Cold Hiendley Res: A GREAT  WHITE  EGRET was viewed from the dam wall, on the south bank near the SF, at 11.30hrs. It was flushed and chased around the west bank field, by a Grey Heron. at 11.35hrs.    The GW Egret returned to the near north bank  but was flushed  by the Heron after 10 minutes.  The pair flew over and around but after a few minutes the GW Egret  landed further down the north bank where it stayed for approximately 15 minutes before it flew even further down the north bank  and dropped in out of sight at 12.10hrs.
