The Edge 20th July

Wombwel Ings - Present were 16 Canada Geese, 7 Greylag, 52 Mallard, 6 Gadwall, 4 Wigeon, 2 Tufted Duck, 3 Grey Heron, 3 Little Egret, 1 Cormorant, 1 Little Grebe, 2 Coot, 1 Moorhen, 1 Kestrel, 34 Lapwing, 42 BH Gull, 1 Common Gull, c20 Goldfinch, 2 Linnet, 2 singing Sedge Warbler and 1 Song Thrush.
Warbler Way - Singing males included 5 Blackcap, 5 Chiffchaff, 2 Sedge Warbler, 1 Willow Warbler, 1 Yellowhammer and 1 yaffling Green Woodpecker.
Bolton Ings - On the open water were 4 Mute Swan + 12 cygnets, 16 Canada Geese, 99 Gadwall, 15+22y Tufted Duck, 17 Mallard, 12 Pochard, 173+14y Coot, 2 Moorhen, 1 Grey Heron, 3+2y Great Crested Grebe, 11+6y Little Grebe and 2 LBB Gull. Also present were 2 Lapwing and 1 Sparrowhawk.
Broomhill Flash - Noted were 2 Mute Swan +5 cygnets, 29 Canada Geese, 3 Greylag, 19+15y Gadwall, 9+16y Tufted Duck, 7 Mallard, 1 Pochard, 139+4y Coot, 9 Moorhen, 12 Little Grebe, 1 Kestrel, 68 Lapwing, 4 Snipe, 1 Redshank, 1 Little Ringed Plover, 1 Common Sandpiper and 3 LBB Gull.
