The Edge - The real 4th March

Wombwell Ings mid AM- Present were 2 Mute Swan, 126 Canada Geese, 3 Greylag, 2 Shelduck, 143+ Wigeon, 9 Teal, 8 Tufted Duck, 7 Mallard, 2 Gadwall, 1 Shoveler, 5 Grey Heron, 1 Little Egret, 10 Coot, 3 Moorhen, 151 BH Gull, 9 Common Gull, 3 Lapwing, 1 singing Song Thrush, 1 Mistle Thrush, 5 Skylark and 3 Reed Bunting.
Broomhill Flash late AM- Highlight was 2 Ringed Plover doing several circuits of the flash before heading off  north at 10.45am. Also noted were 13 Canada Geese, 53 Wigeon, 14 Gadwall, 9 Tufted Duck, 7 Shoveler, 5 Teal, 1m+2f Goldeneye, 2 Mallard, 1 Pochard, 3 Little Grebe, 2 Cormorant, 1 Oystercatcher, 320+ BH Gull, 3 Common Gull, 2 LBB Gull, 1 Sparrowhawk and 1 Kestrel.
Bolton Ings early PM- On the open water were 2 Mute Swan, 11 Greylag, 9 Pochard, 8 Tufted Duck, 7 Mallard, 7 Shoveler, 3 Gadwall, 1m+1j+2f Goldeneye, 2 Teal, 5 Great Crested Grebe, 1 Little Grebe, 1 Grey Heron, 45 Coot, 1 Moorhen, 22 Lapwing over, 186 BH Gull, 10 Common Gull, 2 Herring Gull and 1 LBB Gull. Also present were 1 Buzzard, 1 Kestrel, 1 calling Green Woodpecker, 1 Grey Wagtail and 1 female Stonechat.
