Carlton Marsh

Water Rail 2, Kingfisher, Goldcrest, Red legged Partridge, Willow Tit 1+1 SE 3709, Tawny Owl.

This aerial view was taken on the 5th of March with a drone commissioned by Pete Wall of the Dearne Valley Green Heart Partnership. Looking north with the disused Hull & Barnsley Railway embankment on the left, Paul Bichen was making good progress accessing places that I thought would have been next to impossible due to c200 years of deep silt (more than 2 metres in places)
Since this photo was taken the site has been totally transformed just in time for the spring migration.
Peter will be taking more aerial photos when the work is complete.
