The Edge 10th Feb

Wombwell Ings mid AM-Cold and misty with main flash 95 % ice-covered. Present were 2 Mute Swan, 155 Canada Geese, 2 Greylag, 5 Shelduck, 70+ Wigeon, 18 Shoveler, 15+ Teal, 9 Mallard, 4 Gadwall, 8 Moorhen, 4 Coot, 2 Grey Heron, 63 BH Gull, 5 Common Gull, 6 Meadow Pipit, 1 Pied Wagtail and 13 Redwing over.
Broomhill Flash late AM-c60-70% ice-cover. The Egyptian Goose, seen mid AM, had just disappeared into the mist as I walked into hide. I did manage to see 1 Shelduck, 58 Wigeon, 29 Teal, 18 Tufted Duck, 10 Gadwall, 9 Mallard, 1 Grey Heron, 46 Lapwing, 1 Snipe, 1 Kestrel, 1 Sparrowhawk, 150+ BH Gull and 7 Common Gull.
Bolton Ings late AM/early PM-Very misty at first but slowly visibility improved. c95% ice-cover. On the little bit of open water were 2 Mute Swan, 21 Pochard, 11 Mallard, 11 Teal, 6 Tufted Duck, 4f Goldeneye, 2 Shoveler, 15 Coot and 1 Great Crested Grebe. On the ice were 65 BH Gull and 23 Common Gull. Also present were 2 Grey Heron, 2 Cormorant over, 2 Greater Spotted Woodpecker, 4 Redwing and 3 Bullfinch.
