Wintersett 10 UP Gull Roost 18.01.15

0°C,  icy conditions underfoot,  sunshine until mid morning then clouded up. with a very light north westerly.
 Disposal Point:  Little Owl 2
Wintersett Res Roost:  A juvenile Iceland Gull was in at 16.15hrs
Anglers CP Roost was brilliant tonight with 10 species of gull observed.  An adult Iceland Gull was in at 14.30hrs. The juvenile Glaucous Gull was in at 15.03hrs.  The 3rd W Caspian Gull was in at 15.07hrs.  The red ringed adult Mediterranean Gull flew in at 16.50hrs - this bird hasn't been seen here since 26.12.14. .  3 Yellow-legged Gulls were seen - 2 x adults, 16.25 and 16.30hrs,  and a 1st W at 14.55hrs.
The DARVIC ringed 2nd W Herring Gull, J595A was in. This bird was last seen on 29.12.14.
An interesting 1st W gull was at ACP from 15.25hrs.  It had a white head and a Glaucous type bill, like an American Herring Gull.  Pics to follow.  Also see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6lHfQzX-G8&sns=tw
NB Pugneys Roost had a decent sized roost with a 3rd W Caspian and 3 Yellow-legged Gulls. Drake Smew still present  per @jonnybirder
