Edderthorpe WeBS count Sunday

A very disappointing count of wildfowl this morning, not sure if it's the cold snap midweek or fireworks which seem to have moved the duck on. Highlights include;- Mallard 350, Teal 130, Wigeon 85, Gadwall 48, Shoveler 43 (exactly 200 less than 9 days ago), Pintail 2, Goldeneye 1, Pochard 29, Tufted Duck 17, Cormorant 14, Little Egret 1, Golden Plover 840, Lapwing 174, Common Snipe 30. As mentioned in a earlier blog by Paul, a cream-crown Marsh Harrier came in just after 10 o clock and settled in juncus near the wind turbine. The highlights from Ferrymoor/Cudworth Common are;- Mallard 180, Goosander 5.
