The Edge 28th Aug

Wombwell Ings mid AM- A good start to the day with a Spotted Flycatcher showing in the hawthorns along the Bulling Dyke. Also present were 1 Little Grebe, 4 Cormorant, 3 Grey Heron, 1 Mute Swan, 242 Canada Geese, 33 Mallard, 19 Teal, 6 Gadwall, 1 Garganey, 1 Kestrel, 11 BH Gull, 1 LBB Gull, 48 Lapwing, 5 Black Tailed Godwit, 4 Dunlin, 2 Greenshank, 2 Spotted Redshank, c10 Pied Wagtail, 4+ Yellow Wagtail and 1 Kingfisher. J Thompson had 1 Whimbrel late AM.
Broomhill Flash late AM- Standing room only in the hide with the restoration work dragging in the birds and the punters. Noted were 15 Little Grebe, 9 Cormorant, 2 Little Egret, 1 Grey Heron, 1a+2y Mute Swan, 3 Canada Geese, 22 Mallard, 19 Tufted Duck, 8 Gadwall, 4 Shoveler, 40+ Lapwing, 2 Ringed Plover, 1 Greenshank, 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Green Sandpiper, 2 distant Buzzard, 2 Sparrowhawk, 1 Kestrel, 5 Grey Partridge, 1 Red Legged Partridge, and 9 Yellow Wagtail,.
TPT- 1 Green Woodpecker and 2 singing Chiffchaff.
Bolton Ings early AM- Present were 12 Little Grebe, 6a+2y Great Crested Grebe, 4 Cormorant, 2 Grey Heron, 2a+10y Mute Swan, 49 Greylag, 13 Canada Geese, 30 Gadwall, 24 Tufted Duck, 5 Pochard, 5 Mallard, 5 Wigeon, 3 Shoveler, 1 Teal, 250+ Lapwing, 1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Kestrel, 3 Swift and 1 Bullfinch.
