Wombwell Ings mid AM-The dead hawthorn bush next to the park gate entrance is worth checking. This morning it had 20+ Goldfinch, 3 Blackcap, 2 Whitethroat and 2 Willow Warbler. Also on the Ings were 4 Grey Heron, 157 Greylag, 121 Canada Geese, 118 Mallard, 18 Gadwall, 3 Shoveler, 2 Teal, 50+ Lapwing, 2 Little Ringed Plover, 1 Black Tailed Godwit, 74 BH Gull, 5 young Grey Partridge, 6 Linnet, 7+ Pied Wagtail and 4+ Yellow Wagtail.
Broomhill Flash late AM- Noted were 2 Cormorant, 26 Little Grebe, 1 Black Necked Grebe, 1 juv Great Crested Grebe, 1 Mute Swan + 2 juv, 37 Mallard, 31 Gadwall, 18 Tufted Duck, 3 Shoveler,1 Pochard, 6+ Snipe, 2 Green Sandpiper, 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Dunlin, 1 LBB Gull, 1 Yellow Wagtail and c60 Sand Martin.
Bolton Ings late AM/early PM- On the open water were 10 Cormorant, 4 Little Grebe, 5a+1juv Great Crested Grebe, 1 Mute Swan +4 juv, 36 Gadwall, 11a+5y Tufted Duck, 8 Mallard, 6 Shoveler, 6 Teal, 2 Pochard, 1 Wigeon and 17 BH Gull. Also present were 2 Grey Heron, 27 Canada Geese, 1 Greylag, 4 Oystercatcher, 3 Sparrowhawk, 1 Kestrel, 1 LBB Gull and 3 Bullfinch.
