10°C and rising at 09.00hrs,  sunny and warm all day.  Hordes of visitors around, but unfortunately the Glossy Ibis failed to reach here after leaving north from Wombwell Ings at 12.30hrs.
Wintersett Res: A Whimbrel went north at 06.30hrs. Common Tern 3.  4 male Sedge Warblers were in this area this morning. There was a Mallard brood of 8 small ducklings and a Kingfisher was seen.
A Cuckoo was heard at Cold Hiendley and at least one was in the ACP area.
Anglers CP: Little Ringed Plover 2.  A Whimbrel went south at 12.16hrs.
Haw Park Wood: Crossbill 1.
Tree Sparrows:  The first chicks were ringed today from nestboxes.  Broods were good with large and healthy young.  A total of 42 were ringed from 9 boxes.  It looks like being a good early season for the first broods.
