The Edge 10th Apr

Wombwell Ings mid AM- Present were 1 Grey Heron, 1 Little Egret, 4 Mute Swan, 45 Canada Geese, 15 Greylag, 3 Shelduck, 33 Tufted Duck, 32 Gadwall, 14 Mallard, 7 Shoveler, 5 Teal, 3f Goosander, 2 Wigeon, 13 Lapwing, 4 Redshank, 2 Little Ringed Plover, 1 Oystercatcher, 41 BH Gull, 7 Skylark, 5 Sand Martin, 2 Blackcap and 1 Chiffchaff.
Bolton Ings late AM/early PM- On the open water were 5 Little Grebe, 3 Great Crested Grebe, 5 Mute Swan, 48 Tufted Duck, 12 Gadwall, 12 Pochard, 10 Mallard, 1m Shoveler, 1f Goldeneye, 558 BH Gull and 1 Common Gull. Heard along Warbler Way were 17 Chiffchaff, 7 Blackcap, 7+ Wren, 2 Willow Warbler, 2 Chaffinch, 1 Song Thrush, 1 Green Woodpecker and 1 'booming' Bittern(1.35pm from Old Moor). Also present were 1 Cormorant, 12 Canada Geese, 9 Greylag, 1 Pink Footed Goose, 4 Oystercatcher, 2 Bullfinch, 1 Kingfisher and 1 Grey Wagtail.
Broomhill Flash mid AM(per Mick Rushton)- Present were 3 Little Grebe, 2 Great Crested Grebe, 2 Mute Swan, 12 Greylag, 12 Canada Geese, 23 Tufted Duck, 5 Gadwall, 4 Mallard, 2 Shoveler, 2 Pochard, 2 Kestrel, 8 Sand Martin, 2 Grey Partridge and 1 Red Legged Partridge.
