Carlton Marsh

This morning was nice and warm for a change, the temperature peaking at 17.1c by mid-afternoon. I never cease to be amazed by the magic of migration. 5 singing Willow Warblers and 5 singing Blackcaps are recent arrivals and 3 Sand Martins flew over. Also present were pairs of Little Owl, Buzzard and Grey Wagtail. 2 Water Rails and a Red-legged Partridge were calling and a group of 7 Lesser Redpolls were feeding in Birch trees. Jay seem particularly noticeable with 8 seen yesterday!

A few Jays appeared at Old Moor in last week.
