Really late but here is the news from the weekend:-
Bolton Ings/Sunday :- A cold clear morning, 1c at 07.30 with ice on all the puddles. Webs count day and as usual most numbers down on last week, exception being Coot at 323. The 7 Great Crested Grebes from last week had moved out and Little Grebes down to 6 including 1 on the river. The first Redshank of the winter was present and nice to see 22 Snipe showing in the sunshine. Old Moor/Saturday :- Meally Redpoll 1 near the Visitor Centre.
Old Moor/Sunday :- Gadwall 312, Wigeon 384, Pochard 13, Goldeneye 3.
Wombwell Ings/Sunday :- Wigeon 85, Snipe 11.
Old Moor/Sunday Roost :- Bittern 2, Goosander 5, Barn Owl 2.
Broomhill Village/Sunday :- Woodcock over.
Old Moor/Monday :- Pintail & Curlew.
