Seven species of BOP and still not happy........

Guess I should be happy really though, as whilst returning from a call-out job I decided to call-in to Broomhill Flash. Within five minutes or so (12.05) picked up a Red Kite reasonably low and as it began to gain height two more raptors were picked up one of which was clearly another Red Kite and thus the first multiple sighting down here. So why not happy? Well the third bird left us frustrated, it looked like a harrier, and appeared smaller than a Marsh but try as I might I just couldn't clap the 'scope on it. All three birds seemed to drift off northwest leaving us feeling happy but frustrated as the third bird will just have to be forgot - that's if we can! Also seen there were Kestrel, Sparrowhawk and Buzzard as well as a Dunlin and the ad-winter plumage Little Gull.

Old Moor: 2 Bitterns, Hobby, Marsh Harrier (cream crown) till 10.50 at least, 4 Oystercatchers south, 5 RP, 4 LRP, Turnstone.

Edderthorpe: Spoonbill mid-morning at least.
