Arctic Ingbirchworth

Bit of an ordeal getting there today because of the snow drifts on all the roads west of Barnsley.  This place does't have much these days because of the path all around.  Nevertheless, it was better than being in the house all day.  The best was a pair of Goldeneye, along with 51 Canada's, 19 Mallard, 18 Coot, 5 Tufted three Moorhen and 3 Little Grebes.

Hi Mayor.

True Ingirchworth doesn't live up to its former glories but I don't think there is actually any correlation between this and the construction of the path. Royd moor is much less impacted by visitors, for example, yet also yields poor numbers nowadays.

Both are suffering from the general decline in bird numbers in our areas, sadly.

All the best.
