Broomhill Flash mid AM- A small area ,about 5-10% of the flash, was ice-free. On te water were 1 Mute Swan, 18 Pochard, 11 Mallard, 10 Tufted Duck, 8 Teal, 2 Shoveler, 15 Common Gull and 122 Coot. Also present were 15+ Fieldfare in Clegg's Meadow, 150+ Canada Geese and 2 Red Legged partridge in the back field, and 67 Lapwing and 1 Golden Plover on the ice.
Bolton Ings late AM- 1 Green Woodpecker, 2 Siskin and c50 Redpoll were seen on the TPT. Only one small area of ice-free water supported 1 Great Crested Grebe, 4 Little Grebe, 2 adult+1 juv Mute Swan, 46 Mallard, 30 Shoveler, 13 Pochard, 8 Teal, 4 Wigeon, 3m Goosander,2 Gadwall, 112 BH Gull, 4 Common Gull and 190+ Coot. Also present were 8 Canada Geese, 4 Bullfinch, 10+ Fieldfare, 10+ Redwing, 1 Kestrel and 6 Lapwing.
