Highlight today: An adult male GARGANEY in eclipse plumage in the north west corner of Wintersett Res. mid afternoon.
Vis Mig: The following birds were all moving south early this morning. Siskin 15, Meadow Pipit 43, alba Wagtail 7, Chaffinch 5, Goldfinch 4, Reed Bunting 1.
Anglers CP: An adult male Peregrine out hunting then left north at 07.28hrs. Little Grebe 13 + 2 very small young. Teal 2, Shelduck 1 juv. and Pintail 1 adult male in eclipse. A Green Sandpiper flew south west and 146 Lesser Black -backed Gulls and an adult Herring Gull were bathing mid afternoon. A Red Admiral butterfly was also seen.
Wintersett Res: Water Rail 1, Swift 2, Little Grebe 5. The following birds were ringed this morning.Willow Warbler 2, Reed Warbler 2, Whitethroat 1 and Goldcrest 2.
Old Royston Flash: Greenshank 5, Green Sandpiper 1.
