Broomhill Flash mid AM- Black Necked Grebe still in residence along with 8 Little Grebe, juv Great Crested Grebe, 25 Cormorant, 57 Gadwall, 11 Mallard, 9 Pochard, 6 Teal, 5 Shoveler, 5 Tufted Duck, 4 Mute Swan, 1 Green Sandpiper, 2 LBB Gull, 2 Grey Heron, c60 Swallows, c20 House Martins,4 Pied Wagtail, 2 Kestrel, 1 Sparrowhawk and 1 Peregrine.

Wombwell Ings late AM- Saddened to see carcasses of 3 dead Canada Geese around the edge of the water, probably the result of shooting in the back field during the past week. Live birds present included  8 Mute Swans + 5 cygnets, 79 Greylag, 34 Mallard, 8 Teal, 3 Tufted Duck, 1 Shelduck, 6 Little Grebe,3 Grey Heron, 9 Snipe, 5 Greenshank, 1 Black Tailed Godwit, 1 Ruff and 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker.

Obviously Bulling Dike has prevented the shooters from marching across the Ings with dogs and guns to pick the dead birds up.
Of course picking dead birds up from someone else's land is deemed to be poaching.
But that hasn't stopped them from doing exactly that at Broomhill.
