Old Moor Surrounds

Broomhill Flash- Apart from the good numbers of Swift, Swallow and House Martin it was a quiet day with 1 Ruddy Duck, 1 Shoveler, 1Pochard, 10 Gadwall and 25+ Tufted Duck on the flash.
Bolton Ings- Singing males included 7+ Chiffchaff, 5+ Willow Warbler, 5+ Blackcap, 5+ Wren, 5+ Chaffinch, 4+ Whitethroat, 1 Garden Warbler, 1 Yellowhammer and 1 Cuckoo. On the open water were 40+ Tufted Duck, 10+ Gadwall, 10+ Mallard, 4 Grey Heron, 3 Cormorant, 3 Great Crested Grebe, 4 Little Grebe, 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 1 Common Tern, a pair of Mute Swans + 4 cygnets and 8 Pochard ( a pair and 2 ducklings on the west end lake). Also seen were 1 Oystercatcher, 1 Kestrel, a family group of 6+ Willow Tits, 2 Kingfisher and a hunting Barn Owl on Wath Ings. 
Wombwell Ings- Very quiet with 10+ Mallard ( 1 brood of 10 ducklings0, 3 Tufted Duck, 3 Gadwall, 1 Shoveler, 1 Redshankand a Mute Swan with 5 cygnets. The only young Lapwings seen were 2 juveniles and 1 chick.
