More Yellow Wags at Wintersett 11.06.12

Very cold (10 degrees) and overcast all day.
Another check in the wheat field south of Cold Hiendley village produced 7 territorial male Yellow Wagtails.   These numbers are unprecedented for one field. It seems the close proximity of the sewage works is a main factor for this  as the birds are collecting large amounts of insects from the filter beds.
Other highlights were: a Red-legged Partridge on the sewage works track, 2 Grey Wagtails flew south from the spillway on Wintersett Res and 2 Common Tern were on Anglers CP.
