The Fleets

Ray Dye's patience paid off when he located an adult Treecreeper with 2 fledglings sunbathing yesterday.

At Bleachcroft Farm, Cudworth yesterday there were 3 juvenile Little Owls plus 2 adults at the nearby Carlton Pit yard (Dave Standish)

Today at Carlton Marsh Mute Swan 2 +2 young, Red Legged Partridge and 2 Song Thrush singing.  Looks like our local Cuckoo's have gone south for the winter - no song here or Cudworth Common since 8th of June.

Butterflies included 2 Dingy Skipper, 1 Large Skipper, 3 Small Copper and about 30 newly emerged Green Emerald Damselfy.

Hello! Where a bouts around Bleachcroft Farm do you look? Where were the little owls? Seen that they've been sighted a few times now, but I've never personally been to the area.

Thanks :)

For some time now we have been observing Little Owls on an old lorry chasis opposite Bleachcroft Farm to the west side of the disused Midland Railway where stone is recycled at Lidsters yard. Look from the bridge where the two dikes meet towards the chasis where they often sit if not disturbed by machinery working there. There is anorther pair in old Carlton Pit Yard amongst loads of rubble. I hope this is of help.
