Edderthorpe early morning

Very little change to the birds present from last night;- Avocet 6, LRP 5, White Wagtail 2. The overnight rain has pushed the river level even higher and closer to the top of the flood bank. A metal tower, presumably a wind speed measuring device is currently being erected on top of Park Springs Tip overlooking the flash!

The wind measurement tower is part of one of the two schemes that will result in 2 or 3 wind turbines being placed north and east of Edderthorpe Ings.
This is not good news for the nationally important numbers of golden plover that regularly congregate in that area, or any other birds using Edderthorpe Ings for that matter; especially during foggy weather.
But again - which of the regular birders have been involved in trying to prevent these wind turbines being built?
I know of only one.
