gull ible?

About 80 Goosanders had arrived to roost on the Mere by dark but no sign of RBM which departed this morning. The Little Egret also flew in to its usual roost spot on the river and a Barn Owl was also hunting. Meanwhile the gull roost on the Mere had increased dramatically with no less than five Herring Gulls and a Great Black-back. Look out Wintersett! News from earlier in the day included a Bittern feeding in the small bit of open water on Bolton Ings and the Little Egret there too. Three Goldcrests and a Tree Creeper were seen on Warbler Way. A Lesser Black-backed Gull was seen on the Mere and the first Curlew of the year passed through there late afternoon.

Meanwhile the Rough-leg was again at Ewden Heights this morning where at least two cock Black Grouse were seen yesterday, quashing rumours that only one remained.
