Wintersett Res and Anglers CP
Red-crested Pochard 4 still on the res near the boathouse. First Goldeneye of the winter returned today. Vis migging from the country park produced 5 Pintail flying sw and a good Snipe movement totalling 74 flying west by lunchtime. No doubt about the biggest frustration of the day (or year)- a fly-over golden plover with dusky underwings and auxillaries giving a double note call;- surely a American! The perils of vis-migging leaving a couple of observers feeling mugged. The autumns first Redwings, a couple of small flocks also went west today.
